Anse Chastanet, is the winner of several international awards, ideal for couples, honeymooners and romantics who appreciate the serenity and complete tranquillity of this unique and secluded tropical hideaway. Located on the picturesque and lush west coast close to the famous Pitons, the town of Soufriere dates back to 1713. Close to this sleepy town are a number of natural attractions which draw visitors to this part of the island.
This romantic resort occupies a fraction of the 600 acre surrounding estate and had been designed in harmony with nature to complement the island's natural beauty. This part of the unspoiled south-western coast is quite and relaxed – guests can enjoy two beaches including Anse Mamin, just around the corner and reached by the resort's water taxi. No two rooms or suites are exactly alike and are spread across the hillside or down on the main beach and close to the PADI diver centre. Some rooms have a formal separation between the bedroom and sitting room while others are open plan.
Situated in the heart of the St Lucia marine reserves and surrounded by many coral here you will find excellent scuba diving and snorkelling. Complimentary basis, snorkelling, windsurfers, kayaks and sunfish sailing boats. Also try tennis, jungle biking or a nature walk among the ruins of a colonial plantation. The less actively inclined "simply do nothing", lie on the beach or enjoy one of the therapeutic body and beauty treatments offered by the spa located at beach level. There's also a casual, beachside bar and elegant restaurant. A panoramic hillside terrace is where breakfast and afternoon tea are served daily. Dinners are a romantic candlelit affair with a daily changing menu celebrating Tropical World Cuisine, with musical backdrops provided by local entertainers. Please note that there are approximately 100 steps leading from beach level to the mid-hillside level, thus making the property unsuitable for those with walking difficulties or cardiac problems. However the hotel has a shuttle service upon request.
Accommodation - 49 individually designed suites, 37 of which are scattered about a lush hillside, and 12 which are nestled within a tropical garden at beach level. All suites at Anse Chastanet are built in an airy fashion with louvre windows that allow for excellent natural ventilation, all rooms have ceiling fans, only Deluxe Beachfront have air-conditioning. The furniture has been individually designed and handmade in the region with the exclusive use of the island woods such as teak, mahogany, green heart, red cedar and wild breadfruit. All rooms have fridges, electric tea/coffee makers and wall mounted hair dryers and in-room safes. No TV's radio or phone.
Superior Hillside suites are octagonal cottages with one king or two beds, ensuite with shower and spacious balconies and Piton/ocean views.
Deluxe Beachside suites are just steps from the beach with a large balcony or patio with garden views and have air-conditioning.
Deluxe hillside suites are spacious, some in a very open-air style with the fourth wall missing and some with dramatic open roof dormers with large balcony and ocean and/or Piton views.
Premium hillside suites are in an elevated position with Piton views, some with fourth wall missing for a natural and open style.
